 1.Take Screenshots On Galaxy S Duos : This is the very first trick and easiest of all.To take screenshots on galaxy s duos just press home and power button at the same time and hold them for 3 seconds.The screencapture photos will be automatically saved to sdcard>ScreenCapture folder on phone’s storage.

2.Use Camera Flash As Torch : Samsung galaxy s duos is equipped with a 5 MP powered with a LED flash.This LED flash is not only for taking pictures in dark also it can be used as a standalone torch.To use camera flash as torch click “Apps” on homescreen and then click “Widgets” tab on top right.Now from this list of widgets select “Assistive Light”.The widget will be added to homescreen.Click the “Assistive light” button to use the camera flash as torch.


3.Change Font Style : You can change the font style on your galaxy s duos.There are 4 font styles available in it.To change font style goto Settings>Display>Font Style.You can select your desired font from a list of 4 font styles.You can choose between helvetica,choco cooky and rosemary font style.


4.Show CPU Usage : You can see your CPU usage while using the phone.To see cpu usage goto Settings>Developer options>Show cpu usage.


5.Show Battery Percentage : You can see battery percentage of your galaxy s duos’s battery without installing battery percentage app or any other special battery app.Battery percentage option will show you the percentage remaining on your phone’s battery.It will warn you against low battery.To enable battery percentage on galaxy s duos goto Settings>Display>Battery Percentage and check it.You will see battery percentage in notifications bar before battery icon.


6.Limit Background Processes : Limiting background processes can increase your phone’s battery life.Running low number of background apps will surely increase battery life.To limit background processes goto Settings>Developer options>Apps>Limit Background Process>Select number of apps.You can limit a maximum of 4 background apps.

7.Encrypt SD Card And Phone : Encrypting your SD card and phone will secure it against misuse.To encrypt phone and SD card your phone’s battery should be charged to above 80%.Be careful before encrypting the phone and SD card,backup your entire data on your pc first.Your encrypted SD card may not work on other android phones.To encrypt phone and sd card goto Settings>Security>Encryption>Encrypt device or Encrypt external device.

8.See All Widgets : To see all the widgets click the “Apps” on homescreen then select the “Widgets” tab.You will see all the widgets installed on your phone.You can slide left or right to access all the widgets.Just click on any widget and it will be automatically added to homescreen.


9.See All Downloaded Apps : These are the apps that you have installed from play store or from somewhere else.To see all the downloaded apps click “Apps” on homescreen then click the vertical arrow next to “Widgets” tab.Click this arrow to see all the downloaded apps on your phone.

10.Access Shortcuts In Notifications Bar Slider : Just click on the top of the screen and slide down.You will see an array of important shortcuts here.These shortcuts include wifi,gps,sound,screen rotation,notification,Bluetooth,driving mode etc.These are quick shortcuts.You can activate or deactivate android system services with one click through notifications slider.


11.Backup Contacts On Galaxy S Duos : You can backup all your contacts on galaxy s duos without installing any other app.To backup contacts open Contacts and then click menu button.A list will open,select “Import/Export” option.Further select an option like where you want to backup contacts like SD card or phone or sim.Based on your selected option the contacts will be backed up to sim/sdcard/usb storage in .vcf format.Later you can import these contacts to your phone’s sim.To import contacts reverse the above process.


12.Quick Redial Recently Dialled Contact : To quickly dial the recently dialled number you don’t need to open the contacts log. Just open the dial pad and click the button just below the ‘*’ key. After pressing this key the number will be automatically typed then you can dial that number without typing.

13.Trim Or Crop Videos On Galaxy S Duos : You can trim videos on galaxy s duos.Trimming a video means cutting a short part from it.To trim any video proceed as follows.

1.Play any video then press the menu button and select “Trim” from the list.
2.A video trimming program will open.Slide the trimming sliders from left or right to select the part.
3.After selecting the the trim part click trim.A popup will open select “Trim as new video”.
4.Trimmed video will be found in sdcard>Output.

14.Record Incoming Calls On Galaxy S Duos : To record incoming calls you need to download “auto call recorder”.This app will record all incoming calls on your phone.You can download it here.

      Create a folder directory like this on your sdcard.

      sdcard>media>audio>notifications

      put all your favourite ringtones in the notifications folder.Now goto Settings and under Device tab click "Sound".Here you will find "Notification ringtone".Click this and you will see the ringtones that you put in your "notifications" folder will be visible here.Choose your favourite ringtone to set as message tone.

      hmmmm not showing.I transferred the files which are in mp3 format it was not showing my ringtones.And call recorder recording other end voice ib very low level.Is there any alternative for both these problems.

      There is no such option in galaxy s duos.You might have installed some voice notification app.

      You can't.Everything you download will be saved to phone storage but you can move your data to sdcard.

      the external sd card has a folder named "ext_sd".Move files to this folder to be saved on sd card..

      enable voice input in keyboard settings.Just open messages and create a new message the keyboard will open automatically.Click the settings icon and in settings check if voice input is checked.If it is unchecked then put a check mark in it.Now the voice input button will appear in keypad.

    I have a sim from one country and a sim from another country. Moving between countries is easy for voice calling (I dont need to do anything), BUT I also want to change the simcard used for data in one or the other country. I know how to do it manually, but it is a bit of a lengthy and cumbersome process (first i have to disable one card, then change the technology used on the other card, then enable again). So I was hoping there was an App to do that.

      Just add your email in samsung account and choose a password and set it up once.Samsung account will help you to track your galaxy s duos when stolen.Turn on mobile tracker.If you set it up once it will not bother you again.

      Becca it is the icon for SIM.It means that the SIM in slot 1 is active for outgoing calls.Not to worry.

      If application hangs then clear their cache and data from application settings.Galaxy S duos is not a good phone,its screen is not responsive and it doest not understand the touch precisely.

      If your galaxy s duos freezes or hangs then factory reset your phone,but before doing this backup all the data stored on your phone.

      There is no jellybean 4.3 os for galaxy s duos.You can try custom roms.But there is always a risk in using custom roms.

      Limit the background processes from settings menu.

    The phone is slow. Most of the time 500 MB of RAM keeps occupied of 645 MB of RAM.
    A simple example of its slowness. to complete the process of calling someone by opening the contacts, selecting a number and calling takes around 20 seconds.
    most of the time is consumed in waiting for the contacts option to show the contacts.

    can anyone suggest how to make this phone faster? a solution is needed badly.

      Stop unwanted apps by using the task manager.Galaxy s duos lags while playing games like temple run and subway surfers,So I recommend you to use task manager to free RAM and uninstall unwanted apps from it.Also you can use NQ netqin smart RAM booster which is good at optimizing RAM.

      Hello Asha.Factory resetting the phone won't work if you do not format the usb storage of galaxy s duos.In factory reset option there is also an option named "format sd card" and format "usb storage".You need to format this usb storage as this is phone's storage.Unless you clear this usb storage the backup will not be deleted.

      Other option is reset your galaxy s duos in recovery mode.But do not try this if you can format the usb storage from factory reset settings in phone settings.
      1.Remove sd card first to avoid data loss.
      2.Now press home button+volume up+power button at the same time to enter into recovery mode.
      3.Do not release buttons until you the recovery mode.
      4.Move down and select "Wipe data/factory reset".
      5.Then go back and select "wipe cache partition".
      6.Again go back and select "reboot system now"

      If nothing fixes then try manually deleting that files.And if possible post a screenshot of that backup files.

      First of all galaxy s duos hangs a lot due to low RAM of 768 MB.Even games like temple run don't run smooth and the phone lags.

      You can't move apps from phone to memory card.If you want this then you need to root.But I won't recommend it.

I try to scan , i try to connect to my home wifi but it appear to my screen NOT in Ranged. i have an excellent signal of wifi. i restart my SAMSung S duos and turn off for many times but the home wifi is still not in ranged..       You can restore the contacts to your galaxy s duos by using samsung KIES if the contact file is in .sbu format or if it is in .vcf format then simply copy it to your phone and then click on it to restore.

      You can't upgrade it to jellybean because galaxy s duos can't run jellybean.Jellybean requires 1 GB RAM to run.Also samsung has not released the low end version of jellybean which require less RAM.So at present it is not upgradable to android 4.1 jellybean.You can use a custom ROM though.

      the puctures are stored in DCIM folder in phone's storage.Connect the phone to pc and use samsung kies to copy camera photos to pc easily.Also you can use the phone in MTP mode and can copy the photos to pc.

      There are two ways either connect the phone to pc in MTP mode.You will see a portable media player in my computer.Then copy pics from pc to phone.When you connect it you will see a usb notification in your phone,just click it and enable MTP.

      Secondly you can use samsung KIES to move or copy pics from pc to mobile

    I have a problem with my S duos. My phone is not viewing my memory card (ext sd card) again... It doesn't recognise it. Also if i try to charge or connect my phone to the PC it is always problematic... Sometimes I have to switch off my phone remove the battery and replace it before the phone charges. however the connection to PC is not working... Pls what could be the problem?

      please check the format of sdcard.It should be fat or fat32.If it is NTFS then it will not work.

      If pc connection is not working then check you have installed samsung usb drivers or samsung KIES software.Without these you can't connect galaxy s duos to pc.

      You should see a big "E" with green and orange arrows that blinks when data network is ON.If you are not seeing any E sign then you have not activated the data network.Enable data network in wireless and network settings.If you are using two sims then check their configuration,the sim that you are using in sim1 slot may be disabled from connecting to data network while the sim2 may be enabled.So check these things first.Or it may be a network problem.

      You should check the "Display" settings it may have a option like stay awake.
      Gmail won't give mail notifications,it gives notifications for mails that are not viewed and doesn't appear in mailbox.
      For whatapp check the notification settings,it should be on.

      enable "Dual sim" in sim card manager settings.If you enable this you will receive calls on both sims.In sim card manager enable "Receive incoming calls" this option is for when you use gprs and want to receive calls on other sim.Do this for both sims.

      You can't sign out from the gmail app on android.However you can try to delete it in account and sync.It can't be deleted if it is associated with google play apps.Only way to delete is factory resetting the phone.

      Hello Harsheen,the files are stored in bluetooth folder.I mean whatever file you receive from other phone's bluetooth will goto the bluetooth folder located in My Files.Check the folder named bluetooth,it contains all the files that you have taken from bluetooth.

      You can move most apps to sdcard by going to applications manager and select "move to sd card".But all apps doesn't support this feature.Why you want to root your phone,rooting will make it vulnerable to viruses and bugs,I won't recommend to root,s duos has large space,so doesn't matter to move apps to sd..

      First trick.
      goto Settings>Display>Battery Percentage.It will show battery percentage next to battery icon.So you will know whether your phone is near to be juiced out or not.See trick number 5 above.

      Other trick.
      Use some battery apps like juice defender,NQ booster optimizer,Battery HD etc to get an alarm when battery is low.But the trick no. 1 is good as you do not need to install separate battery app that will juice down battery of your phone by running continuously.

      If you want to put images on your phone contacts then you have to save them on phone memory.Contacts stored in sim do not support images.

      Yes you can manage with any phone but truly speaking this phone hangs alot and is not smooth in gaming,you can't create great scores in temple run due to this hanging problem.

      This phone is not good for gaming.It can't be upgraded to jellybean.It's cpu is single core and it lags while playing games like temple run.Gaming is not smooth on galaxy s duos.

      If you want to buy an android jellybean device for gaming then go for galaxy tab 2 p3110 wifi which is 7 inch jellybean tablet and you can play almost any android game on it.It has a dual core processor and 1 gb ram.It is cheaper than galaxy s duos.But you can't make voice calls from it.If you want a voice calling feature with gaming then go for galaxy tab 2 p3100.

      first check the format of sd card.It should be fat or fat22.NTFS format is not supported.

      Use it with other phone and pc to check whether it is working or not.If it works with other phone then do the following.

      Backup all data from it to your pc then format it in either fat or fat32 format using windows pc.Now copy all data again to this sd card.Now enjoy.

      First of all clear all the app cache and system cache by using android assistant app.Install android assistant and click tools and select system clean.Then clean all cache files.This will surely help you out.

      You need to root it then and use links2sd with a partitioned sd card.But there is no guarantee that it would work.

      For memory cards use transcend with higher class.Like class 4,class 6.With increasing class price of sd card also increases.Higher class sd cards have high rate of read and write.

    i cant enter download mode with Volume UP + Home buttons together, and the Power button. it takes me to fast boot menu (written in red). after that, no key works again unless i take out battery. if i try Volume DOWN + Home buttons together, and the Power button, a caution sign+ phone appears. here too no key works until i press home, and this also take me to ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY <3e> ...but i want to enter DOWNLOAD MODE and root my phone :-(

      To enter download mode first switch off your phone then after press "Volume down+Home+power key" for few seconds.You will see a warning for custom roms.Press volume up to continue then you will see "Downloading,do not turn off target".This is download mode..

      your phone's calling volume might be set to low.Just press the volume up button during a call to increase the calling volume.If this doesn't work check your phone with other SIM,still problem not solves then goto samsung service...

      Don't worry just turn your phone's data network on and allow the play store app to update it self for some time.It updates automatically itself sometimes when its latest update comes and during this if you open it it will close automatically.After it gets updated it won't close itself and you can use it normally.

      you can't install apps on sd card.I won't recommend rooting as it will ruin your phone.Keep backup of all apps then uninstall un necessary apps and just keep the useful ones.

It was lagging so i did a hard reset and now it wont run whatsapp - it says "Note:Tablets are not supported". I am really not sure what happened as whatsapp was running just fine before the reset (i just wiped the data). Please help.

      the wifi password is changed definitely.Do one thing make that old connection 'forget' and again reconnect to it.To forget a wifi network just touch on it and select forget.

    I have an Airtel network on sim1 and Uninor on sim2. But my data pack is activated on Uninor only. So how do i use that. The option at settings-wireless networks-packet data settings of sim 2 is automatically disabled and is bydefault in ghost mode.

    The moment the check the packet data setting of Airtel then the packet data setting of Uninor as well gets checked but the Internet gets connected with the Airtel Instead of Uninor (Which has the data pack available).

      Padma there are only two possibilities for this problem.

      1.Your network has problem.If this is the case then contact the service provider for proper internet settings.
      2.If you are in roaming then in wireless and networks enable 'Data roaming'.if this option is not enabled then u can't use internet in roaming

      Important one.
      3.In sim settings check whether you have enabled the data for sim1 I mean data can be used on sim1.If this option is disabled then internet also won't work.

      By the way which network you are using.?

      There are two ways.First you can hide the my files folder by clicking the options menu next to arrow button in app drawer.In the option choose 'Hide applications' and choose the 'My files' folder.

      Another one is you can use the app lock android app to lock apps with a password.The tutorial is given below.

    Hi,

    I just bought a core duos and not able to connect to my home network. The wifi icon shows its connected but when try to access the internet it shows a message to eother swicth on wifi or start data point. My wifi is on on the phone and i can see the wifi icon also

      uninstall unusual apps.Always clear cache on your phone.Before running a game free up memory in task manager to kill apps running in background that wastes RAM.
